In the casual game “Unite in Taste”, you design your avatar and furnish your apartment. You play many varied match3 levels, solve tasks and earn new outfits, equipment and furniture.
The player becomes part of a colourful community and meets countless other players whose different styles in outfits and home decorations can be viewed and compared.
I was part of the 3D team of “Unite in Taste”. I modelled and textured hairstyles, headdresses, food stands, furniture and other props. I also built, textured, rigged and animated the robot NPCs of the game.
One method to keep models small in their file size was the use of vertex colours. The three colour channels of the vertex colour defined ambient occlusion, specular map and pattern.
